Character Pillars

The Six Pillars of Character is a framework for teaching good character and is composed of six ethical values (characteristics) everyone can agree upon: Respect; Responsibility; Trustworthiness; Caring; Fairness; Citizenship. Each month we focus on a different character pillar.

Town Halls

We kick off each month with a full school assembly.  The character pillar for that month is the featured topic.

Turtle Tales

Students earn "Turtle Tales" when they exhibit an exceptional example of the months character pillar.  To promote the pillars, students read their Turtle Tale on the morning announcements.

Character Awards

At the end of the month, each teacher nominates a student from their classroom to receive a Character Award for that month. Students are recognized at our Town Hall meetings.
