Small Groups

What is Small Group Counseling?

Small groups give students an opportunity to meet with peers and work on a shared skill or issue. Groups are small, 4-8 students, and usually meet during the students lunch block.

How are students referred?

Students are included in small groups by referral from teachers, parents, and administrators.

My child was referred...is he/she in trouble?

No. Small groups are a place for students to learn skills that will help them be happier in school and at home.

When will small groups run?

Small groups run at different times throughout the year. The duration is 4 to 8 weeks depending on the topic and student needs.

What can my child expect to do in group?

We design our small groups to be fun and interactive. We will play games, do role plays, and team building activities.
